2007 Kentucky State Horse and Mule Plowing Championship

The Eastern Kentucky Draft Horse and Mule Association again hosted the Kentucky State Horse Plowing Championships on Saturday April 20th.  It turned out to be a wonderful day, sunny and warm.  The competition was hosted on the farm of Mike and Joyce Downs near Owingsville, Ky., about 50 miles east of Lexington.   Three out-of-state  judges traveled to the event  from southeast Ohio to provide their expertise and select the winners.  There were 5 different classes and the winners in each class will represent Kentucky in September at the National Championships in Ohio.
