The annual Party on the River was held on the weekend before July 4th at the farm of Mike Stroub and Patricia Hicks. As happens almost every year, there were a lot of wagons and outriders for the rides and many additional visitors for the Saturday evening dinner. It was a beautiful weekend with only a very brief, light shower which was sorely needed as the area is in the middle of a drought. We all had a great time, but we really missed our former president Earl Crump who recently passed away, although two of Earl's sons and his widow, Lisa, were on hand.
At one point, it looked like we were recreating the great Oklahoma land rush of the past.
