2007 Earl Crump Memorial Ride

A group of friends and family members got together on Saturday, October 27, 2007 to hold a memorial ride in memory of Earl Crump who had passed away very unexpectedly in June of this year.  At the time of his premature death, Earl had actually been preparing his team to go for a wagon ride with some of these very friends who gathered to ride in his memory.  It was a rather overcast, cold, and windy day with a misty rain falling intermittently throughout the ride.  It was somewhat appropriate weather for his memorial ride because it was the kind of day where Earl would have jokingly called you a wimp if you didn't want to ride.  We rode several miles through the rocky, hill country of Scott County northeast of Lexington Kentucky and ended the ride with a stop at the cemetery in Davis where Earl is buried.  The afternoon ended with a wonderful pot luck dinner at the farm of Joe Todd Hall, one of the main planners of this event.  From what I could tell, everyone had a good time despite the weather.  It was not the kind of day that I, the photographer for this event, would have preferred.   I did the best I could under the circumstances and hope you enjoy the photos presented here.
