The 2008 Kentucky Horse Plowing Contest was held on April 19, 2008 at the farm of Mike Downs near Owingville , Kentucky. The day began under overcast skies and there was an hour long shower just as the event was getting underway. Fortunately, the ground was dry enough to handle the rain and the afternoon was sunny and comfortable. The event was very well publicized and there were plenty of spectators on hand to enjoy the activities. In addition, there were several teams on hand who did not wish to compete, but do enjoy the use of the practice fields to do some non-competitive plowing. The winners from this event qualify to represent Kentucky at the US Plowing Championships to be held later in the year at Carriage Hill Farm near Dayton, Ohio.
There didn't seem to be much doubt about if Jeff Becker was having a good time.
