Over the weekend of September 16-18, Rob Stroub and Billie Earl North hosted a weekend wagon ride for The Community Draft Horse and Mule Association in Scott County, Kentucky. The riders started arriving on Friday afternoon and the camping area was in absolutely perfect condition. Billie Earl, along with Oliver Carroll, had spent considerable time preparing the grounds for the group. The weather was great with a little Fall chill starting to creep into the air and it was a perfect evening for a warm campfire. The Saturday ride got underway at about 10AM and the group covered almost 20 miles of the back roads of Scott County before returning to the camping area for a group meal. There were several visitors who came for the meal and to enjoy the camaraderie. Early on Sunday morning, the weather made a big change. During breakfast, showers started to form in the area and it looked like the riders might get wet before the day ended. However, that did not occur. While the skies stayed overcast all day, the group was able to complete a 10-12 mile ride without any problem. We were even able to stop at Oliver and Mollie's farm to see their latest group of baby mules. Be sure to click below to see photos from the weekend.
