Bob Wright and a small group of fellow enthusiasts decided to hold a wagon train ride through the beautiful countryside of Adams County, Ohio in the 3 days leading up to the weekend draft horse event at Grooms Glen-Dale Park over the first weekend in October. The ride started on Wednesday, September 28th from the Geeslin Farm in Winchester, Ohio and returned to the same place at the end of the first day after touring some of the back roads in the area. There were 7 wagons that started the day and the weather wasn't bad. We did have one accident, but no people or animals were seriously hurt. Day 2 turned out to be a beautiful day and the wagon train rode over several of the back roads between Winchester and Seaman, Ohio where the group spent their 2nd night. The day did have it's share of excitement, but again, no one was injured. Day 3 started with a cool breeze and sunshine, but the sun quickly disappeared and the wind got both colder and stronger as the day went on. The group arrived at Grooms Glen-Dale Park in the late afternoon after covering about 16 miles of beautiful Adams County. Despite the cool weather, everyone seemed to have a good time and, as the day ended, they were settling in to enjoy a weekend of draft horse fun and games.
